When President Barack Obama earlier this month acknowledged his support for gay marriage, he said his position on the issue had evolved over time. The nation’s CEOs could be forgiven for thinking, “What took so long?” As of 2011, 60 percent of Fortune 500 companies offered benefits such as health and dental insurance to their employees’ same-sex domestic partners, according to Human Rights Campaign, a Washington-based advocacy group.  Here’s a look at what Illinois’ 10 largest publicly traded companies offer.
