Memorial Day weekend is the start of our (too-short) summer travel season.
Over the next three months, Chicago will host nearly 40 percent of the more than 40 million U.S. citizens expected to visit the city this year.
They’re increasingly more important to Chicago’s economy, supporting 125,000 jobs, $11.1 billion in direct spending and $616 million in tax revenue, or a whopping 34 percent of the city’s overall projected tax intake for 2012.

It looks like tourism is on the rise in Chicago. Hopefully this is a great summer for theaters.
