Online lottery sales soar: The Illinois Lottery began selling tickets online on Sunday and saw nearly $16,000 in sales for the Mega Millions and Lotto games. By Tuesday, online sales swelled to $161,192 in advance of last night’s Mega Millions drawing. Because nobody won, Friday’s estimated jackpot is now a record-setting $500 million, the largest in U.S. lottery history.
