REVIEW: Bar Toma
The location:
110 E. Pearson St. | (312) 266-3110 | BarTomaChicago.com
The setting:
Tag this one for casual entertaining, North Michigan Avenue-style, and book a seat in the wine bar, where semi-private red booths provide space for iPads and papers. There are nearby hooks for bulky coats, a low-key soundtrack and an ice-breaking view into the bustling pizza kitchen.
The food:
The refreshing orange-stuffed, marinated olives ($6) ushered us to Mediterranean seashores, but a trio of grilled, marinated skirt-steak skewers ($9) were jarringly overcharred.
