Groupon tests premium subscription service: With Groupon VIP, users would pay $29.99 a year that gives them first shot at deals and priority to make reservations. The service also would allow them to buy past deals that had already sold out and get refunds even after deals have expired, according to an e-mail sent to some customers in markets outside Chicago on Thursday.
